In Ungheni, graduates take the stage in a district its young people are leaving

The Graduates' Ball returns to Ungheni on 18 June 2026, in Independence Square — a ceremony for the young people finishing high school, organised by the city hall together with the district council and the Education Directorate. Last year, the stage in the town centre gathered the graduates of all eight high schools in the district. Beyond the music and the diplomas, the event carries a stake the numbers state bluntly: Ungheni is losing its young people — for every class that climbs the stage, another has already left.
